In Memory Of "Sam"

The Create the Vision Source & The Allied Addiction Services families miss our Colleague & Comrade, and Truest Friend.

April 6, 1953-October 9, 2009

Sam’s philosophy was his belief that addictions and all of its life threatening consequences are treatable and preventable. His life mission and desire was to provide a “person-centered” therapy approach to these aims.
No one person should be denied the help they seek because of race, age, sexuality, culture, socio-economic status, and/or illness (i.e., addiction). Sam’s work ethic, concern for people, and constant desire for healing, allowed him to master his efforts. As a licensed clinician and addiction specialist, Sam was able to champion the courageous efforts it takes to overcome chemical dependency and provide an inclusive path for those individuals who truly seek freedom for themselves and their loved ones as he spent the last twenty plus years of his life seeking his freedom.

Sam was a lover of music and played his tenor saxophone daily as his passion and solace. Playing jazz offered him the opportunities to maintain balance, escape from life’s lows and provided him the energy to serve the community with clarity, humility, and honesty.

Sam leaves the blueprint to continue his life’s mission; we make efforts to continue serving this community in his memory. In the frank words of our friend Sam, “Trust God, clean house, and help somebody!”

Summer is over now what?

Now that summer is officially over, we hope that you had a safe and enjoyable summer, but now what? What's next? How will you end the year 2010?
What amazing things will you do now? What wonderful plans will you make? Are you planning any "bucketlist" successes? Maybe you are securing winter vacations and holiday plans now? Maybe you have decided that it's time to work on your harvest season weight, maybe you are renovating your homes and/or offices.

AUGUST- (8) A new beginning starts TODAY!

As we are entering the eighth month of the year, August, most people feel that it is the end, of at least the Summertime fun. The BluButterfli has a new perspective about the eighth month.
Do you really know what the number "8" means?

After some research, it was found that the number "8", represents "the beginning of a new era or order". It also means over and above the perfect completion, since we learned that the number "7" represents a period of completion.

How amazing to have a new beginning. Why should we wait until New Year's Eve to make amazing things happen, write our new year's resolutions, to start fresh as we reflect on the past year's triumphs and tragedies of our lives? Why should we feel that fun times are over, now that August is here and soon will be gone?

We can have our new beginnings right now! We can begin and end pulling off our old selves and start living our lives differently and better TODAY!

We also learned that the number "8" means- "ONE WHO ABOUNDS IN STRENGTH".

Place the concepts together and we have, 'One who abounds in strength in the new beginning of an era or order' OR reverse it and it reads, 'The beginning of an era or order of one who abounds in strength'!

Either way it is powerful and a new spin of how we can live out the month of August, a summer month- vibrant, exuding power, living at our maximum power and potential.

What changes in your life are you willing to sacrifice/surrender and give-up, so that your heart, mind, body, and spirit can be open to freedom of exciting expectations, love, and peace? What positive, productive, prosperous, and peaceful things will you replace the negative void with during your Spring preparation? Isn't it time??
