AUGUST- (8) A new beginning starts TODAY!

As we are entering the eighth month of the year, August, most people feel that it is the end, of at least the Summertime fun. The BluButterfli has a new perspective about the eighth month.
Do you really know what the number "8" means?

After some research, it was found that the number "8", represents "the beginning of a new era or order". It also means over and above the perfect completion, since we learned that the number "7" represents a period of completion.

How amazing to have a new beginning. Why should we wait until New Year's Eve to make amazing things happen, write our new year's resolutions, to start fresh as we reflect on the past year's triumphs and tragedies of our lives? Why should we feel that fun times are over, now that August is here and soon will be gone?

We can have our new beginnings right now! We can begin and end pulling off our old selves and start living our lives differently and better TODAY!

We also learned that the number "8" means- "ONE WHO ABOUNDS IN STRENGTH".

Place the concepts together and we have, 'One who abounds in strength in the new beginning of an era or order' OR reverse it and it reads, 'The beginning of an era or order of one who abounds in strength'!

Either way it is powerful and a new spin of how we can live out the month of August, a summer month- vibrant, exuding power, living at our maximum power and potential.

Sacrifice/ Surrender Season.....what things will you give-up?

Have you ever sat and wondered why music touches your heart? Is it the music itself or is the lyrics that causes you to respond? Is it because of the sound that forces you to move, feel, think, or remember? Words or songs linked together or separate are profound, exhilarating, emotional, exhausting, energetic, meaningful, scary, and even uncontrollable- causing you to feel a specific emotion, or to cause you to re-enter a place of pain, confusion, or the ecstasy of a memory....WOW! Music & Words= Songs....

As you listen the radio, ipod, or your play favorite CDs...which song speaks to your heart? if you are watching television or experiencing a musical or opera, which song cause a chill up your spine or is so disturbing you have to remove yourself from its space? Whether you can hear a note played or sing a tune, it, the words or songs effects your inner being....have you ever thought, why?

What is your life's "theme" song at the moment? If you never hear a note of music or if you never see the song performed, which lyrics means the most to your spirit? Which song or lyrics touches you in places that causes a tear to fall- allowing the reminders of the hurts to leak out?

Which songs speaks the words you wish to share with the one(s) you love the most? Which song or lyrics provides you the most comfort when you feel alone? Which song or lyrics brings you the greatest joy when you are sad, encourages your heart when you are disappointed, or brings out your brightest smile? Which song or lyrics perfectly says, "I am sorry" or "I love you"? Which song or lyrics gives you the energy to dance freely as if no one were watching?

Are you loving yourself and "loving" it?

As we near what most people celebrate as Valentine's Day, the day of expressing love with one another, consider if you include yourself in the loving. We love our children, families, spouses, best buddies, neighbors, and friends, but are we loving ourselves?

What does our heart tells us about the way we love? Do we take time to appreciate the beauty and amazing gifts about ourselves, things that make us laugh when no one is watching? Are we honoring the things that make us feel especially attracted to the person we are becoming?

Give yourself permission to enjoy you! Allow yourself to have the freedom to love you FIRST without feeling guilty, or without being pre-occupied with everything and everyone else. If you don't love and appreciate the gift you are, how can anyone else?

What are you thankful for this holiday season?

Although times are tough and challenging for some of us this season, and it may seem like life is filled with constant "storm" experiences, in the midst of it all, I am sure that there is something to be thankful for.

Let us consider our small blessings during this thanksgiving season; it may be the very thing that sparks hope and energy to face another moment. The things we may take for granted, may be our mini miracle that helps us face another day, another challenge head on with courage.

The miracles may be found in the touch of a small child running in your arms after a hard day of job hunting, or a parking space found in front of the building where you are interviewing for that much needed job, it may be a warm smile that you glance from your neighbor while sitting at a long stop light, or possibly in an email you received from an old friend, but in every experience and in everything give thanks.

If we spend time giving thanks for the little things our big challenges may not appear so heavy on our spirits. Our thanks and gratitiude may be a blessing for those who are in our lives as well as the motivation we need to change our lives and live it to the fullest.

"Are you presently in your 'personal' summer?"

As we know seasons change from winter, spring, summer, and fall. Now we are experiencing the hottest time of the year, when the sun, which is our main source of heat, is at its brighest and warmest. People appear to spend more time outdoors enjoying outdoor entertainment, athletics, one another. Vacation spots are busy, people appear friendlier and full of life. You experience a flexibility in the workplace, a "dress down" dresscode. The smell of bar-b-que radiates in the hot air and limited breeze, the sound of children's laughter, is contaagiuos, and causes you to take a second glance and "remember when" life was so free; even the animals appear to have smiles on their faces.

All of this initiates the question, Are you presently in your "personal" summer?

Are you full of laughter, feeling free enough to dare the impossible and to enjoy the most amazing experiences? Are you plugged into your power source that encourages life and energy? Are you connected to the positivie things in your life that causes you to be a part of "it" rather than a spectator. Are you shining so brightly that being around you is contagiously exciting? Are you in your most confident season, full of ideas, creativity, and your passion for life is oozing all over the place? Are you vacationing from stressful situations and taking a moment to run in the summer rain barefoot? Are you meeting your neighbors for the first time, registering for a special class, having "date-night" with your loved one? Are you spending time to learn this season of your children's lives? Are you traveling to places in your neighborhood or abroad that you have dreamed of going? Have you ever experienced feeling like you were on top of the world and everything in your life was "amazing"? Have you ever felt the freedom to exude confidence and take risks in your personal, spiritual, academic, and professional spaces? Have you felt like screaming and not caring who may be watching you? Have you ever felt extremely satisfied, happy, and blessed, in addition to feeling thankful for it all?

If you answered NO to any or all of these questions.........WHY NOT?

What is causing you not to live life in the fullest? What past memories are enabling you to think differently? What people are covering your sunshine? What can you do to assist the transition of "your summer"? How can one encourage you to move closer to that season in your life? Are you holding YOU back; or is it something else?
