What are you thankful for this holiday season?

Although times are tough and challenging for some of us this season, and it may seem like life is filled with constant "storm" experiences, in the midst of it all, I am sure that there is something to be thankful for.

Let us consider our small blessings during this thanksgiving season; it may be the very thing that sparks hope and energy to face another moment. The things we may take for granted, may be our mini miracle that helps us face another day, another challenge head on with courage.

The miracles may be found in the touch of a small child running in your arms after a hard day of job hunting, or a parking space found in front of the building where you are interviewing for that much needed job, it may be a warm smile that you glance from your neighbor while sitting at a long stop light, or possibly in an email you received from an old friend, but in every experience and in everything give thanks.

If we spend time giving thanks for the little things our big challenges may not appear so heavy on our spirits. Our thanks and gratitiude may be a blessing for those who are in our lives as well as the motivation we need to change our lives and live it to the fullest.

"Are you presently in your 'personal' summer?"

As we know seasons change from winter, spring, summer, and fall. Now we are experiencing the hottest time of the year, when the sun, which is our main source of heat, is at its brighest and warmest. People appear to spend more time outdoors enjoying outdoor entertainment, athletics, one another. Vacation spots are busy, people appear friendlier and full of life. You experience a flexibility in the workplace, a "dress down" dresscode. The smell of bar-b-que radiates in the hot air and limited breeze, the sound of children's laughter, is contaagiuos, and causes you to take a second glance and "remember when" life was so free; even the animals appear to have smiles on their faces.

All of this initiates the question, Are you presently in your "personal" summer?

Are you full of laughter, feeling free enough to dare the impossible and to enjoy the most amazing experiences? Are you plugged into your power source that encourages life and energy? Are you connected to the positivie things in your life that causes you to be a part of "it" rather than a spectator. Are you shining so brightly that being around you is contagiously exciting? Are you in your most confident season, full of ideas, creativity, and your passion for life is oozing all over the place? Are you vacationing from stressful situations and taking a moment to run in the summer rain barefoot? Are you meeting your neighbors for the first time, registering for a special class, having "date-night" with your loved one? Are you spending time to learn this season of your children's lives? Are you traveling to places in your neighborhood or abroad that you have dreamed of going? Have you ever experienced feeling like you were on top of the world and everything in your life was "amazing"? Have you ever felt the freedom to exude confidence and take risks in your personal, spiritual, academic, and professional spaces? Have you felt like screaming and not caring who may be watching you? Have you ever felt extremely satisfied, happy, and blessed, in addition to feeling thankful for it all?

If you answered NO to any or all of these questions.........WHY NOT?

What is causing you not to live life in the fullest? What past memories are enabling you to think differently? What people are covering your sunshine? What can you do to assist the transition of "your summer"? How can one encourage you to move closer to that season in your life? Are you holding YOU back; or is it something else? Are you learning more about yourself in the season you are presently in?

Have you ever experienced a personal summer season? Have you been in "your summer" for a while and have transitioned out of it? How was it; what was the one thing you would like to duplicate the next time?

We Mourn An Amazing Talent....Michael Joseph Jackson.. "King of Pop"

On June 25, 2009, the world was hit with the amazing shock that the "King of Pop" had died. The news spread like a wildfire. American and persons world-wide responded as if a close family member had left them forever. Tears began to fall, dedications and memorials all of the world were being collaborated, all for the memory of one who meant so much to so many.

Why were so many people affected deeply? Did he sing the words that so many people felt?
Did he take creative risks that others feared or is it simply because his image was surreal?
Did he live the fantasy that so many people wanted? What happens now? Why is it difficult to imagine life without him?

He himself self was not a god, but somehow he used his hidden secrets, anquish and pain to manifest beauty, creativity, and an untouchable craft. Was he ever shown true love, did he ever know the love of a God who was love Himself, who created love and who create his "genius"?
Will he remain as a positive memory that changed the music industry or will he be known by his faults, mistakes, and rumored past? Will people begin to allow him to truly rest in peace?
What does it all mean for you?

Isn't this the time that we all should be reflective, by "taking a look in the mirror" and live the lives of how we want to be remembered? Are we living each moment as though it were our last? Are we fulfilling those forgotten dreams? Are we touching the lives of others? Are we trying to "make a change"? What will you do? How do you want to be remembered?

We pray for the peace and comfort of his family, friends, and fans, that treasured such a unique and amazing spirit, Michael Jackson.....We also pray that you will now make a difference in your life and in the lives of others, promoting love and to "heal the world".

HAVE A HEALTHY NEW CHANGE IN YOUR LOVE LIFE WITH YOU!!

We have been influenced over the last few months with concepts, thoughts, slogans, expectations, dreams, and hopes of CHANGE- not just for our nation, but in our communities, families, and within ourselves. It is obvious to some people that CHANGE is what we desperately need to produce different outcomes and that our CHANGE requires a collective effort.

We believe that some of President Barack Obama's presidential success was greatly attributed to his love for God, his love for his family, and his love for man. His eloquent remarks assisted us in believing that we all "mattered" as it initiated feelings value, respect, for all persons. It was exciting to see our younger generation joining in the electoral processes aggressively, feeling they too have a voice.

We celebrated a couple of weeks ago with great jubilation and a sense of freedom, being able to finally "exhale", since we had been waiting for so long. Now is our time to embrace this hidden CHANGE or new found CHANGE with the influence of love.

Love is really what makes the world go around. Love is what heals relationships, gives us patience, allows us to help our brothers & sisters; it allows us to simply care. Love has no color.
But as we individually embark on the excitement of CHANGE, are we truly loving ourselves to the fullest? Are we able to move from behind our past hurts and disallow it to remain in our present? Can we finally exhibit a forgiving heart and open ourselves to the diversity of man and embrace our differences? Do we truly understand that - -YES WE CAN?

During this Black History Month and Love Month, let us share a little more love.
