As in some parts of the country during this wintry season, we experience all kinds of weather, we feel crisp air, bright sunshine, icy rains, and we watch the snow fall. It's amazing and beautiful how the flakes fall from the sky and form white coverings over the earth. It instantly smothers out noise, stills all movement.
It creates a stillness and quietness. The hustle and bustle stops and for the BluButterfli, it encourages a period of reflectiveness.
As we approach a new year I can't help thinking about what things in our lives need to be still. Sometimes we need to stop all of the movement and sit in our quietness, reflecting on our hopes, dreams, mistakes, patterns, and friendships.
What things need to be still and quiet in your life? What things do you think about during your still moments?

I'm really enjoying this time being snowed in! This is probably the only way that I would sit still for a few moments during the flurry of the holiday season. You have got to love and respect the providence of God. He knows how to force us to get rest when we are unable to rest on our own.
Thank you Beautiful.spirit for your response. I also think during this reflective period of stillness, "being snowed in", causes us to smother out the clutter, noise, impurities/toxins, in our lives. The alone time offers limited movement- perhaps causing us not going certain places, not doing certain things, not interacting with certain people....it really isn't so bad. Many of us have challenges- why? we have to be doing something, going somewhere, and hanging out with someone.
If we were smart we would maximize this quiet time and do those things we wouldn't do unless snowed in- clean house, in multiple ways, and create.
What a perfect time to commune with our Creator...:)
What new things will ignite now that we have had this brief moment of rest and stillness? What creative ideas have entered our minds now that we have had time to clear our thoughts and imagine more vividly?
What things will remain still and allow us to flourish in ways we never imagined?
Interesting.......I'm excited, of the fresh start, making sure that my footprints I now make in the snow are not tainted with unhealthy impurities.
